  • Volunteer Opportunities in Lieu of May Meeting

    Dear Members and Friends,

    There WILL NOT be a May meeting of the Calvert County Democratic Women's Club.

    However, we ask that you devote the time you would have spent attending a meeting to one or more of our volunteer activities.

    • Democratic Party Tents at Early Voting (Thursday, May 2 through Thursday, May 9): It's primary election season, and we have to staff tents at three early voting sites, each for 8 straight days, including the weekend, from early morning to evening. There is one site in each election district (Ward Farm Park in Dunkirk, The Board of Elections in Prince Frederick, and Southern Community Center in Lusby), so one should be convenient to you. Sign up to talk to voters at one of our tents; it's easy, fun, and no experience is required. You can volunteer for as little as an hour or as much time as you can spare!
    • Democratic Tents on Primary Election Day (Tuesday, May 14): We will also need to staff one tent at each polling place for the entirety of Primary Election Day. You may volunteer to talk to voters at your own polling place or any other precinct in the county (just be sure to vote!) There are 18 precincts (17 polling locations) and we need a presence at ALL of them, so we can really use your help! [Signup link to come- please check back soon.]
    • Christmas in April (Saturday, April 27): Volunteer to help with home-improvement and yard cleanup tasks for a Calvert County family on the last Saturday in April. This year's house is in Lusby and the location will be provided to those who sign up. Sign up and see more information here.
