Community Connections Resource Drive-Thru

Saturday, August 8, 2020, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Resource Drive-thru (while supplies last). Resources for children (including educational supplies, diapers, underwear, and more) and adults (including food, pet food, face masks, and more). All free, all distributed outdoors. Drive from station to station and volunteers will place the items in your car - safe and convenient!

August 8 details:

  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf
  • It is "while supplies last" and we do ask that each participating organizations actually give something to those attending that assists them (not just a brochure, but a tangible item of value)
  • We will have two loops: a basic necessities loop and a children's resource loop. Cars will be able to go from the children's loop to the basic necessities loop.
  • We will also have a services loop. The services loop will include a few organizations that may need to converse with individuals in order to provide a service/resource/assistance. For instance, I have an organization that has some grant money to use to pay the utility bill for families in need. That requires a conversation! So we will have a separate section where cars can pull up to those special services and discuss options, etc. without interrupting the traffic flow of the rest of the event. 
  • We are very open to creative ideas! The goal is to assist the community in any way possible while maintaining social distancing and wearing masks, all outside, to create a safe and supportive environment.
