2023 Online Holiday Gift Auction for Scholarships

It's that time of year again...

We are collecting themed baskets and other donations for our annual online auction. Funds raised will support scholarships for Calvert County graduating seniors. 

We've had plenty of clever donations in past years, so feel free to be your creative self and come up with something fun!

You may arrange to drop off your donation at:

• Cindy's house in Prince Frederick
• Dream Weaver in Prince Frederick (during business hours)
• Linda's house in Dunkirk
• or arrange for your item to be picked up
• or bring it to the auction finale party on December 2nd.
  

Information on all donations is needed ASAP so we can get items loaded on the site before the auction begins on black Friday.

Please email Cindy or Linda the following details for your donated item. If you need help compiling this information or taking photos, please email one of us ASAP.

Info needed for auction listing:

1. Name/ theme of item or basket
2. $ value if known (if unknown, estimate or we can list as "priceless")
3. Detailed listing of contents
4. Donor name(s)
5. One or more photographs - we recommend one of the completed basket and one or more of the items, so bidders can see what's included
6. Please include dimensions where relevant (for artwork, pottery, jewelry, etc.)
7. More detail helps items sell!!

• How to bid

• We are using an online vendor called Charity Auctions Today for this event.

• You will need to register on our auction site with a credit card to bid. Please update your credit card on file if you already have an account from last year.

• If you win an item, your credit card will be charged automatically by Charity Auctions Today. No exceptions. Our agreement with the vendor requires this.

• Anyone can bid, but all items must be picked up locally in Calvert County. (No shipping is provided.)
• All items will be up for bid in ONE group, Fri, Nov 24 - Sat, Dec 2
• Come to our Holiday Potluck Party to pick up your winnings. It's at the Southern Community Center in Lusby on Saturday, December 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. (Other arrangements will be made for those who have a conflict.)

About the Scholarship Fund

All proceeds raised will go into the CCDWC Scholarship Fund. Together with the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee, the Democratic Club, and the Riverside Democratic Club, we fund a $1,250 scholarship for a graduating senior at each of Calvert's four public high schools every year. This auction is our club's main fundraiser for these scholarships.
